Swedish Documents
It used to be law in Sweden that the Lutheran Priests had to visit each family in their Parish once a year.  They gave the people an exam to test their knowledge of the Bible and they also recorded the family data.  The following two pages are from the Priest's record of Karl Johan Larsson's family for the years 1881-1885.
There was no freedom of religion in Sweden.  Everyone was automatically born into the Lutheran Faith.  In fact it was not until 1954 that Sweden officially passed a law allowing religious freedon. It was not until January 1, 2000 that a person born in Sweden was not an automatic member of the Luthern Church. People used to be put in jail for being Baptist.  Karl Johan and his family became Baptist about 1868.  The Lutheran Priest recorded it in his log book.  Karl Johan was a tenant farmer for Baron Hamilton.  The Baron liked Baptists and allowed them to practice their Baptist Faith.

This is the police clearance for Karl August Karlsson Nojd allowing him to emigrate to America.
I copied the above information from the files on all the emigrants that left Orebro County.  It shows when the 5 siblings left Orebro County, Sweden.
Orebro County also has a file on all the emigrants that entered the County.  This shows when Uncle Bill returned to Sweden.  He lived with his sisters Hanna and Augusta.  Augusta's daughter, Svea Maria, told  me that Uncle Bill taught her some English and told her all about her cousins in America.

Name of the Farm =
This is difficult to read, but it is a page from the Lutheran Church Books for 1886-1890.

This page is for the farm, Aspelund.  It is a list of everyone who was living at that farm and records if they moved.  On the far right it tells that Anna Gustava left for Amerika 8 July 1887 and Karl August left for Amerika 15 May 1888.

The first person listed is Torp (Torpare = tenant farmer) Karl Johan Larsson.  Next is his wife Gustava Olsd. (Olsd is an abreviation for Olsdotter). The children are listed in order of their birth.  The first child listed is Anna Gustava and the second is Karl August.  Their names are crossed off because they left the home.
This is a page from the Church Book for the years 1866-1870.  The family was still living at Svalnas.  This farm was very close to Aspelund.  Svalnas is where Karl August was born.  This farm still exists and a family lives there.

This record shows that Johan Vilhelm born in 1867 was baptised and that Gustav Emil born 1870 was not baptised.  The family became Baptist sometime after 1867 and before 1870.  It is written next to Gustav Emil's name - odopt.  Dopt means baptised and odopt means unbaptised.
This is a page from the Birth and baptismal records for 1864.  Carl August was the 68th child born in Bo Parish is 1864.  He was born 17 October.  He was born in Svalnas to C J Larsson and his wife Gustava Olsdotter.  Carl August was baptised 23 October 1864.
The above is a page from the Bo Parish Marriage Book for 1859 & 1860.  The first marriage shows that on 26 December 1859 the son Carl Johan Larsson in Svalnas and the young maid Gustava Olsdotter married.  Carl Johan was age 26 & Gustava was age 20.  Gustava's oldest brother, Johan Eric Olsson gave permission for the marraige.  Johan Eric was Gustava's half brother.
The Lutheran Priests also kept a record book of everyone that moved into the Parish and everyone that moved out of the Parish.  This is a page from the Utflyttnings-Langd for Bo Parish for the year 1888.

Karl August Karlsson is the second to the last name on this page.  He left for Amerika 15 May 1888.
